To address the demand for skilled workers in the healthcare sector by inviting qualified candidates to apply for permanent residency in Ontario
On July 18, 2024, OINP issued targeted notifications of interest to potential candidates who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream, specifically focusing on health occupations
Candidates received a notification if they had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 425 and 444, along with work experience in specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes in this OINP draw.
How to Meet the Eligibility Criteria for Ontario's Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream
To qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, follow these steps:
Federal Express Entry System Requirements
- Ensure your profile is active in the federal Express Entry pool.
- Indicate your interest in immigrating to Ontario.
Have Work Experience in an Eligible Occupation
- Your work experience must be primary NOC falls under one of the following occupations:
- NOC 31300 – Nursing coordinators and supervisors
- NOC 31301 – Registered nurses & registered psychiatric nurses
- NOC 31302 – Nurse practitioner
- NOC 32101 – Licensed practical nurses
- This work experience should be listed as your primary NOC in your Express Entry profile.
Educational Requirements
- Have a minimum of a Canadian bachelor’s degree or an equivalent foreign credential.
Nurses are not required to demonstrate that they meet this education requirement if they meet both the following conditions:
- They are registered by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the General, Extended, or Temporary class
- Their primary NOC falls under one of the following healthcare occupations:
- NOC 31300
- NOC 31301
- NOC 31302
- NOC 32101
Language Proficiency
- Demonstrate proficiency in English or French with a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 or higher in all language abilities (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Work Experience Requirement
If applying under the Canadian Experience Class, ensure at least six months of your one year of eligible work experience is in your primary NOC.
Intention to Reside in Ontario
Show a genuine intention to live and work in Ontario.
Other Criteria
Meet any additional requirements set by the OINP, such as proof of funds and legal status in Canada (if applicable).
