Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship is an immigration program that allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents to come and live in Canada as permanent residents.
Eligibility Criteria to apply under parent/grandparent sponsorship
- you’re at least 18 years old.
- you live in Canada.
- you’re a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
- you have enough money to support the people you want to sponsor.
Family Income to sponsor parents/ grandparents (you may have a spouse or common-law partner co-sign)
Income required for the 3 tax years right before the day you apply for PR (sponsors applying in 2024)
How the process Works:
- Submit your interest to sponsor form.
- If you’re invited to applyto sponsor your parents and grandparents, Submit the permanent residence applications
- Its takes almost 20-21 months for the processing of the application and receive permanent residency.
